Zoe Lofgren is the U.S. Representative for California's 19th congressional district, serving in Congress since 1995.  She is the ranking member on both the House Committee on House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight, and on the House Committee on the Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Policy and Enforcement. She is also the is the chair of the 34-member California Democratic Congressional Delegation.

Lofgren is a proponent of comprehensive immigration reform and civil liberties. She supported efforts to repeal the discriminatory dual nationality provisions contained in the Visa Waiver Program reforms and is a staunch opponent of President Trump’s Travel Ban.  Lofgren introduced H.R. 724, also known as the “Statute of Liberty Values Act” (SOLVe), which declares that the Travel Ban has no effect or force of law and no funds shall be used to implement the order.

Lofgren serves as a the host to PAAIA’s annual Nowruz receptions on Capitol Hill and is the sponsor of  H.Res.211, recognizing the cultural and historical significance of the Iranian New Year.
