Virginia Foxx
U.S. House of Representatives (R-5th/NC)
Virginia Foxx is currently serving her eighth term as the Representative of North Carolina’s 5th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives. Foxx is the Ranking Member of the House Education and Labor Committee. She also serves on the Oversight and Reform Committee.
Foxx is a visible leader in the House Republican Conference. She served as the Secretary of the House Republican Conference from 2013 through 2017.
In 2008 Foxx successfully passed a bill to streamline the federal government and save taxpayer money. This accomplishment makes her one of the few members of Congress who took office in 2004 who got legislation signed into law in both the 109th and 110th Congresses.
Foxx served as an honorary co-host of the opening reception to celebrate A Thousand Years of the Persian Book exhibition at Library of Congress in March of 2013.
