Candidate Utah State House of Representatives (D- 49th)  

Siamak Khadjenoury moved to Salt Lake City from Tehran in 1978.  After graduating from Highland High School, he attended Weber State University and worked for the College of Eastern Utah San Juan campus and the Navajo Nation after graduation. Siamak later received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Utah.  

 

Siamak has worked as a Juvenile Court probation officer and youth corrections officer. In the late 90’s, he started a Residential Treatment Center for adolescents in Southern Arizona and eventually expanded it to several programs throughout the state. At the same time, he partnered with others and built a psychiatric hospital in Tucson. He currently is a partner and the CEO of Altium Health, an addictions medicine and psychiatric clinic in West Jordan, Utah.   

 

Siamak has strong and diverse alliances and friendships within his Sandy neighborhood, the Native American community, the Middle Eastern community, the  Jewish community, law enforcement, and mental health communities. He is on the board of directors of the Alliance House which is a non-profit organization serving the mentally ill with services including life skills, employment, and housing.  

 

Siamak is the Democratic nominee for Utah State House of Representative District 49. He faces Republican incumbent Robert Spendlove in the general election. His campaign has been endorsed by numerous organizations and public officials, including major labor unions, Women’s Democratic caucus, Utah O2, The Sierra Club, Planned Parenthood, ERA, and Salt Lake County Sheriff.
