Mr. Robert Babayi
Robert
Babayi was one of the founding members of the
Iranian American Bar Association (IABA) in 2000.
Mr. Babayi, along with other founding members
participated in adoption of the initial Articles
of Incorporation and Bylaws of the IABA. Since
then, Mr. Babayi has been active in the affairs
of the organization, promoting IABA's goals and
objectives throughout the US. Mr. Babayi was one
of the attorney members who participated in investigating
INS conduct in connection with the IABA commissioned
report on implementation of NSEERs by interviewing
a number of detainees in California.
Mr. Babayi has also served as one of the board
of directors of Iranian American Cultural Association
(IACA) in 1998-1999.
Robert Babayi specializes in protection of intellectual
property rights for high-tech clients. He has
handled both defensive and offensive aspects of
patent litigation in the District Court level
and before the International Trade Commission.
Mr. Babayi has prepared and prosecuted patent
applications covering electrical, software, and
mechanical and manufacturing process arts. Mr.
Babayi also counsels clients on patent infringement,
validity, licensing, and due diligence matters.
Mr. Babayi's representative clients include Agere
Systems Inc., IBM, Ericsson, Apple, Motorola Inc.,
Sylvan Learning Systems Inc., and Time Domain
Corp. Mr. Babayi has been involved in complex
patent litigations relating to Wireless Local
Area Network standards.
Mr. Babayi has in-depth technical knowledge of
telecommunication, wired and wireless computer
hardware, storage devices, networking protocols,
object oriented software, integrated circuits,
mechanical packaging and manufacturing processes.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Babayi
was an in-house attorney for Motorola Inc. and
IBM Corp.
