John L. Mica
U.S. House of Representatives
John L. Mica represents Florida's 7th Congressional District, which consists of the suburban area between Orlando and Daytona Beach and includes St. Augustine. Mica serves on the Government Reform Committee. Mica has been recognized as a national leader in transportation issues. He has spearheaded legislative efforts to improve our nation's infrastructure and is a Chairman of the Transportation Committee.
Mica was an original co-sponsor of House Resolution 267, which recognizes the cultural and historical significance of Nowruz, expresses appreciation to Iranian Americans for their contributions to society, and wishes Iranian Americans and the people of Iran a prosperous new year.
A proponent of civil liberties, Mica was an original cosponsor of House Resolution 476, which condemns discrimination and bigotry against Iranian Americans.
